Did you know the first race car transporter we built was for owner Richard Childress and the late Dale Earnhardt’s car? That’s right! In 1992 Featherlite built its first semi race car transporter for RCR team owner Richard Childress and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. Well, over 30 years later and we’re still building transporters for RCR Racing! Below are photos of one of their latest Cup Series transporters finished earlier this year.
This race transporter’s interior is designed to provide ample storage and functionality for the crew. Multiple cabinets line both sides of the interior of this race transporter, including C-Tech roller drawer cabinets, a radio cabinet, engine storage and sixteen crew lockers with USB ports inside each cabinet.
The workbenches feature a sleek, brushed stainless steel countertop, blending form and function. The rear entrance is equipped with pocket doors, allowing for a flush, streamlined look that maximizes the available space. Underfoot, the round disco tile flooring adds a touch of style and traction.
The 15′ lounge area includes multiple seating and work space options. Multiple monitors line the walls in this area as well.
Acting as a fully-equipped garage, these transporters house all the tools, parts and equipment required to maintain and repair the race cars on the go. They also double as spacious work areas, providing ample room for the team to collaborate, strategize and make any necessary adjustments or modifications during each race weekend.
No matter where the races take them, we’re excited to see this new race transporter in the garage area!
